Fun New Jobs!

The economy must be getting better. This week I now have some new teaching jobs. I also love tutoring a delightful young man aged 9. I will be facilitating a seminar for Regions Bank. It is called Women and Finance. I always enjoyed working with banks in Rhode Island and this will be the first time I am doing a bank program in Florida. I had the idea, and I met with the bank . Women really need more information about finance. The bank agreed, so we are offereing an interesting seminar, and I will be the moderator. I love doing these new programs.

I also will be adding another section to my course, Writing Your Life Story. I am teaching it now to 13 delightful students, ages range from 60 up. They are all interesting to teach. I love the job. We added an additional section March 15th. They are all good writers and their stories are wonderful to read . What a fun job this is!

It has been very busy setting up these new programs. With the cold Florida weather, teaching has kept me busy. No time for Fancy Nancy to get into trouble. Have fun and keep in touch.

Writing Class Has Some Great Students

My new writing class at the Park has 4 wonderful students. Today they read their writing and the results were wonderful. One dentist wrote about his trip to Alaska, and he had a hilarious story about his ride on the local bus and the cast of characters he encountered en route.

I had to meet the bank to discuss an idea I had for offering a seminar called Women and Finance. I met with the local President of the Regions Bank and she was lovely. I just submitted a proposal if I am to be involved. If they accept my proposal , I will do the work.

We never discussed my fee, so I think that they thought I was volunteering my time. Since they are not a volunteer agency , I E-mail a summary of our meeting and suggested a plan with my fee. Time will tell if they are willing to hire me.

I also heard from the place I play golf. They are meeting tomorrow to see if they want to offer a writing program next season. I would teach the program next season.

It has been busy lately, and I am enjoying my teaching and also trying to carve out some free time as well.

Fancy Nancy says: I do love teaching and creating new programs is fun.

A Busy Fun Day

This morning I had my Spanish class and the teacher is excellent. It really poured in the morning. Then by afternoon, the sun was out. Now, in the early evening it started to rain again. What an unusual Florida winter.

I took care of taxes today, and handled some business affairs. Then when I got home I learned I have to meet tomorrow with the bank to present a new program called Women and Finance. I also teach in the morning, and usually go line dancing, but I don't think I will have time for the line dancing.

I am trying to schedule some exercise each day. I was happy to be able to come to the gym this evening and do some exercise. My days are fun and full. I am enjoying teaching at two places and also tutoring.

Fancy Nancy says, " If you work at what you enjoy, it will be fun to work" . PS You will probably be good at your work since you will enjoy doing it. Pick something you like to do for your job.

Sunday Funday

We finally got a lovely sunny day and I took a walk to the market and enjoyed watching Marty in a tennis match. I left before the end of the match and was surprised when we came home and told me he lost. He was winning while I was there.

Evidently, he pulled a muscle on the tennis court ,so he could not run well. He said he will play again today, in spite of the problem. Hope he can do it, but I question if his body really needs a rest.

I enjoyed having six for dinner and it was a full day and a fun time. I am learning that everyone has to decide what works best for himself , so I no longer tell people what I think they should do unless they ask me.

Fancy Nancy says, " Don't give advice unless people ask for it" People don't like to be told what to do.

Teaching Is Fun

I am delighted to say that I now have students in both my new classes at the Park. Fleischmann's Park is owned by the city of Naples, and in addition to my new classes, it offers lots of classes for all ages. They even have a skateboard run for skateboard enthusiasts.

Besides my classes, I am now doing tutoring. I have a delightful 9 year old boy, and I am helping him prepare for the Florida FCAT test. This week has been very full since I have to complete my taxes as well.

I do not have to wonder how to use the time. In spite of cold weather, I have been busy teaching, which is fun.

Today was full with line dancing at 9am, then a seminar at 10am and a business apt. at 1pm and a fun relaxing walk to the library and my favorite store, The Bargain Box. A very full day, but I enjoyed it.

Life Story Class Ended Today

Today I completed the first class that I taught at the Renaissance Academy. My students were delightful and I hope they will continue writing their life stories. It is always fun to have an opportunity to work with new and interesting students.

I start to teach this course again in March. Now, I have to finish up my taxes for 2009. I finally got the needed information that I have been waiting for.

I enjoyed listening to a wonderful lecture and slides on Mars. The professor really knew his stuff ,and the slides were amazing. I suspect that since they seem to have some water on Mars, there may be some form of life as well. Time will tell.

The courses at the Renaissance Academy that I have taken this year and in the past are very well done. It is nice to be able to teach there and also take courses as well.
