Computers can be frustrating

Trying to get my computer to remove automatic updates has got me baffled. The store gave me instructions, but they are not working. Do you find your computers can get  you frustrated?

I am back online after my computer was out for a week. It is nice to have it back online. Communication companies are the worst. They all need to learn to communicate better to customers.

New Student Today

Today I met with a new student. I hope I helped her and she helped me with an eye problem. We do learn from each other. That is why I love teaching.

Teaching again and enjoying Fl

We are back in Fl and after getting settled, I am looking forward to teaching again. Weather is lovely and nice to be settled. Moving can be a pain.

Relocating Soon

It is time to relocate to warmer weather. I don't like the cold. Warm is nice in the winter. Packing up and nearly done.

My Hat Is a Hit in Newport

Today it was quite cold and I wore my Sponge Bob  knitted hat to keep warm. It was a hit in Newport, R.I. Many people stopped me to say they liked my hat and one women from Texas asked if she could take my picture. I also have a bunny hat which is even warmer and that has a scarf and gloves attached. That hat is always a hit when I wear it.

It is Getting Cold in New England

No snow, but time to put on mittens, winter coat, and warm hat.  Trying to finish medical apts. before relocation. As we age our bodies need more work and more help. Just finished cataract surgery. Wow, I can see again. Great procedure and it does make a big difference.

Wonderful Time to Swim

Today I was allowed to swim again after eye surgery. It felt great! I really miss the exercise when I am unable to swim. We look forward to relocating soon. Trying to finish up medical apts. Rainy and then sunny in the afternoon.

Stomach Issues

Just saw the doctor after a tough night with stomach pain. Perhaps I ate something that did not agree with me. Glad I saw the doctor even though I did not have an apt. Went to his office and waited until he saw me. Sometimes you have to do that.

Teaching is done at the libraries

I enjoyed doing three programs at the libraries. They went well. I had to cancel my Sept. program since I have to have cataract surgery. I will be glad when it is over.

Summer is going quickly

Working on fixing up the house. Met a nice young man at Home Depot and he did a great job doing repairs. Home Depot is a good place to find folks to fix what is broken.

Writing Class Ended Today

Just completed a second library writing class. The students all bonded and wanted more. They were a delightful group. Went swimming. It really helps aches and pains.

A Medical Week

This past week it seems my body fell apart. Not one part but several parts. I hope now it is pasted back together. It seems as you get older the body needs more patching.

Dealing with some medical issues

Interviewing eye surgeons for cataract surgery. I may have found one I like. It takes time to discover who you want to work with for surgery.

Great time with family and friends

Visited my son . He is a wonderful host and entertains all the time. We had a great time seeing him and many of his friends.

This weekend we will go to the Berkshires . It is a lovely area and very scenic. I am still interviewing surgeons . Eventually I will find one I like. Keep looking if you are not sure.

Fun Class

Today I met with my Life Story Writing class. A lovely group and I learned from them. I am lucky to be able to still teach. You need to find things in your life you really enjoy. I do love teaching.

A Trip to Watch Hill

Today was a cloudy day. We went to Watch Hill. It used to be very fancy. Many of the old shops are gone. It was very windy. They have a famous carousel there.

It took some time, but I finally found a way to keep my blog going. Today was busy with a fun painting time, swimming, and getting ready to teach again on Wed. The time has gone quickly since we returned up north.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads

Fathers are special. They are the stabilizers in most families. My dad was often working. When he told us to do something , we did not question him. Today it is different. Often the dads are involved in more sharing. Years ago the moms did most of the child care .

I just found a site that works

I have been trying for days to find my site online. It would not work on AOL. It does work on Google Chrome. What a time I have had since I did not know who to keep my blog going. Thanks for hanging in there. Fancy Nancy is back online.

Getting Ready to Relocate

Time to pack up. We are relocating next week. We have had a good season in Florida. We do not miss snow and the winter.

Met my twin boys today to tutor them to read. They are fun and I have them some surprises.

Lunch with Movie Club

We used to have a movie club and so today the ladies met from the former club to say hi to a member who lost her husband. It was nice to connect and I think she was happy to see all of us.

It is hot in Florida now

Well it is cold up north but very hot in Florida. We are getting ready to relocate. I am enjoying a new senior center where they offer all kinds of courses. I think it is great that they have such facilities.

Folds are Leaving Florida

Many are leaving for the season and returning up north. Things are winding down. It is getting hot here now. We will all reconnect with our up north families soon.

Wow, the market took a real hit today

Just read the stock market report. Today it took a big hit. What goes up can also go down.

It is Getting Hot in Florida

The days are getting hotter. We are getting ready to relocate up north. It is   had a good winter here. Up north they had it tough.

Nice Class Today

My computer is still having problems, but I am trying to work in spite of the problems. Nice class today with two interesting students. We have a busy week with company coming on several days.

Every Day Is a New Adventure

Felt fine this morning but did not feel good this afternoon. Had to cancel company. Started to feel better after taking some medicine. One day at a time. One never knows what the new day will bring.

Comoputers Are Frustrating

I have spent most of this week trying to get my computer to work. The store said they fixed it and put in a new program, but it still is not right. I will need to find another service that does better work. It upsets me when I do not have access to my E-mails. Today was not my best day. Students who were scheduled never arrived and never called to cancel. Hope tomorrow will be a better day. One day at a time.

Computers are Great When They Work

My computer has been having problems again. When they work they are great. When they do not work, they are a pain! Tomorrow I have to go back to the computer store again to have them update the system.

Confusing Day with Wells Fargo Bank

I think Wells Fargo Bank needs better help. I have been waiting for a new credit card for two months and so far it has not arrived. When I go to complain they pass the buck and no one follow through. Where does the buck stop? Perhaps I should write to the President of the bank. Maybe he can get through the maze of exceuses they give to the customer.

I am lucky to have some wonderful students. That makes teaching fun. You are lucky when you like your work.

Saturday Teaching Day

I am enjoying teaching 3 youngsters to read. I give them fun things to do and at the end they get a surprise. Anything to encourage reading which is so important. As I get older I read more than ever. Not much good stuff on TV.

My computer works again.

I often have problems with my computer. I just brought it in to update the systems. I do miss is wheen I don't have it. Had a lovely student today. She is writing about her life when she had to leave Cuba. Teaching students from all over is fun.

Fun at Good Will

Tonight it was very cold and we went to a fun Good Will. It is an adventure and I got some very good teaching materials for some of my young students. You never know what  you will find at a Good Will.

Had a good class and enjoyed my studnet. My program on India had to be changed since the schedule would not work for the girl from India. Trying to suggest an alternate program

Company from Rhode Island

Today we had guests from Rhode Island. They are very glad to be in Florida since the Rhode Island weather is tough. Lots of snow. Naples is a lovely place in the winter.

Teahing New Students is fun

I am enjoying my teaching and I love it when I have students from other countries. What a treat. Don't have to travel aroung the world, they come to Florida.

Today I had two students. One was from Scotland and the other from Canada. It is fun to have studnets from different countries. I learn about life in other places.

Today I had a new student and I am teaching him Speed Reading. Always fun to meet studnets from difference countries. Still cool here , but much better than up north.

Good Time to Buy Canadian Dollars

Now is the itme to buy Canadian dollars and get a good return on US dollars. You could enjoy good discounts in Canada or wait until the exchange reverses. I did a small exchange today and maybe I will go to Canada this summer. Time will tell.

A Good Day

Love to get a massage. It is really great for the skin and the body . I have a wonderful Russian massage therapist. She is excellent and a lovely lady. Saw the ear doctor as well.

A Great Weekend with Family

Had a wonderful weekend with famiy on the East Coast. Had dinner with my daugher and her family and then connected with my 91 year young cousin. He and his wife a model seniors. You would never know their age. They are both very activley involved with life , with people and with projects.

Busy Week

We had a nce visit with family this week. Always fun times when we have visitors in Florida. Weather has been colder though. Classes I take and teach are fun. I like to teach and learn as well.

Cold, Crisp Florida Day

It was cold in Florida today. I am wearing my winter jacket. Saw a movie at the Library. Jasmine, a 2013 flick. The library does many nice free programs. I teach at three libraries in Rhode Island and the programs they offer in all the libraries are excellent.

Fun Friday

Today I had my Physical Therapy. The girls are just great who work with all kinds of patients. I admire the work that the threapists do with all kinds of issues. It is wonderful that people can have physical therapy to help them heal medical issues.

Hi and Happy New Year. Hope this year brings good health and good times. Looking forward to hearing from you  and enjoying the Florida weather. Just met the new neighbors. They are from Boston. Many new young people now buying in Florida before they retire. Not a bad idea. Why not!
